The idea of “Casa do Montado” emerged in 2015, but only in 2017 was the Passareiro cork estate, that belonged to the family of Mr. Peter Neville Ellis Mollet for 150 years, involved. This unique estate of 570 hectares is located in the district of Evora, in the heart of the Natura 2000 Network – Sítio do Monfurado.
The family’s strong connection to the cork sector has allowed, over the years, for the preservation of pieces related to agrpoforestry activities, as well as a valuable documental archive.
